As I said, most of them are from youtube. I'm not always in here when I view the videos. So I send them to my email so I can insert them LATER. I don't know what is so hard about it. Rivian R1T is 4" longer than Tacoma (the biggest midsize truck) and 4" shorter than Nissan Titan crew cab (the smallest fullsize truck). It was a deliberate "split the difference" strategy to compete in both segments. VW is going straight for fullsize truck... I think that is a conscious choice as well to differentiate itself from Rivian. The original International pickup from 1940 to 1975 was a competitor to the Big 3 fullsize trucks. Given how the market is, it would be downright stupid for VW to kill it off in the NA market. VW is struggling here as it is and VW products barely make a dent market share currently vs 20 years ago. But, it appears the Scout will be a BEV primarily with a hybrid option, and will be sold direct from the manufacturer (a la Tesla). Given VW's penchant for for screwing things up royally what could possibly go right? I still can't figure out how they screwed up the I D Buzz... You know IH completely redesigned the chassis of the light duty trucks in 1975 to accommodate their new 'big block' MV 404 and 446 V-8's. The MV's were not ready in '75 but were sheduled for '76. Halfway through the '75 model year IH gave up on the light trucks and Travelalls. The MV V-8's had nowhere to go, IH began to offer them in some of their medium duty trucks and sold a handful to Dodge for motorhome chassis. The buzz was cool looking but not worth 70-80K. If it was $40K it would have sold much better. Hopefully the next gen affordable EVs turns around their image they have. Not much to figure out......it costs way too much for what it is, and is controversial looking to begin with, with its target market (old bus lovers) aging.
