turbo_diesel_focus
Just a horrid thought, but theirs been all this talk of Ford looking for a allaiance partner, Nissan/Renult seem to be getting closer to a deal with GM, does anyone have any ideas anout Fords possible allaiance partner? Ford use to own a 10% stake in Kia and Ford help hyundi get stated many years ago with a re-badged version of one of their models! Imagine if did join together! Im not even going to go into what it would mean! But I would like to hear your thoughts on it, would it be possible, could it happen? Does Ford actually need a partner, Mazdas doing a great job at the moment...................

Watchdevil
Oh yeah the Festiva.... If Ford can't make it on it's own designing and building cars people want without resorting to what GM is doing with all it's Daewoo rebadges then it's time to fold up and be history... It's pretty bad already that Ford has wasted time and effort desiging expensive aborted RWD platforms and the only thing saving them is Mazda and Volvo. And everthing that is left that Ford developed on it's own are old platforms that have been largely neglected virtually unchanged until no one wants them anymore. About the only thing Ford has kept up with is updates of the Explorer, Expedition and F-series trucks as well as the Lincoln and Mercury variants of them. If they had poured as much energy into the passenger car market they would still be on top instead of Toyota and Honda as well as other makers with thier substantial pieces of the pie. The Mustang, Fusion and Zephyr is the only thing they have done right recently. Getting the Five Hundred and Montego to look right is the next step. However, they need a competitive Focus, a good all American RWD performance sedan and the right next Thunderbird. Mercury needs a Cougar and the right identity and placement with its other products. Lincoln just needs to get back to the core of American luxury with a Continental and Mark series vehicles with no luxury import posers..
