J-150
Has anyone compiled the total sales by engine for Ford vs competitors? We talk sales of different competitors, 1/2 ton vs 3/4 and 1 ton, take rates... But I am curious as to how well the 3.5 EB is selling in absolute quantities vs the Hemi vs GM 5.3 etc
silvrsvt
IIRC, V6 and V6 Ecoboost sales made up better then 50% of F-150 sales...I'm not sure if other makers break down engine sales #s
RangerM
If the Chevy guy I encountered at a stoplight recently is any indication, the EB is likely making an impact.
SoonerLS
According to this press release ( https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2014/05/05/ford-sells-500000th-ecoboost-engine-for-f-150.html ), the EB35 accounts for 45% of F150 sales, and they've sold a half a million of them since introduction, or a bit more than 166K units per year (though I'd bet that it's closer to 200K for 2014 and closer to 100K for 2011, based on the growth in the truck market).
