Edstock
Neat site. "European Dirty Herrie mini puller depends on a full-house GAA with GM 14-71 blower for power." Edited July 15, 2014 by Edstock
traxiii
They have new videos of two of them at the Ring on mustang6g.com and one sounds like a flat crank to me. The other sounds like a Coyote with Flowmasters.
RichardJensen
Round about the 48 sec. mark, that sure sounds like a flat plane crank. That's just awesome. You haven't heard a production US V8 make that sound. Ever. The next car you see sounds like a typical cross plane V8 (about the 1:00 mark), and has a different camo pattern (note that the C pillar is black).

Damn that does sound nice...I just wonder why they have two different prototype engines they are testing?
RichardJensen
Damn that does sound nice...I just wonder why they have two different prototype engines they are testing? Because twice the engines is twice the awesome. I'd guess that there will be multiple high-high performance Mustangs.

I loved the sounds all around! Don't know what the complaining is about.
30 OTT 6
Looks like dual mode mufflers. They're pulling out all the stops!
papilgee4evaeva
Note how the pistons fire in groups of two. Exhaust sounds a bit weird because it's only four pulses instead of eight. That explains what I was hearing in the video. I thought it sounded like fewer cylinders than a conventional V8, so my guess was that it was the 3.5EB or something like that, especially compared to the second V8 in the video Richard posted. Hugh
Perhaps the flat-plane is for ROW and the cross-plane is for the traditional minded NA customers. Edited July 16, 2014 by Hugh
RichardJensen
Why wouldn't Ford sell both? Has anyone, other than the occasional grinch, complained because Ford offers too many ways to go fast in a Mustang? Love the sound of a flat plane V8 in the morning. Sounds like victory.

There was an earlier video that had a weird sounding engine in it that I thought was an ecoboost V6 in it...a flat plane would explain that.
