atomcat68
This wouldn't necessarily have to be a rebadged product coming from a competitor's plant. More like splitting R&D costs for a low profit vehicle. Yes, I think this is the route they would go as this is what they did with the Ford/GM transmissions. Maybe GM is the company they should work with for this too.
630land
Toyota bought out Daiatshu [sp?] for expertise in "micro cars for emerging markets". So, even the #1 maker needs assistance, but "Heck to the no" for any Ford built Mopars! Sooner see them buy Jeep outright.
kyle
Toyota bought out Daiatshu [sp?] for expertise in "micro cars for emerging markets". So, even the #1 maker needs assistance, but "Heck to the no" for any Ford built Mopars! Sooner see them buy Jeep outright. There is not a chance in hell of FCA selling Jeep. Why would they? That is their cash cow and what they are doubling down on. I personally think its going to happen to some degree on small cars. The costs are too high for any ROI. Give FCA credit they are going where the market is headed. Better to run their plants wide open on profitable sales than producing cars that are rolling off the line with little to no margin. Moosetang
FCA would only sell Jeep if it meant the survival of Fiat. Long way from there yet.
