Sherminator98
Christ....Camaro sales are down 26%? That doesn't bode well for a brand new car.

jpvbs
Silverado is down 4% but Sierra is up 13%. Between the 2 they are almost the same as last year - <400 fewer this year. Wasn't there a big truck sales offer at GM this month?
PREMiERdrum
Silverado is down 4% but Sierra is up 13%. Between the 2 they are almost the same as last year - <400 fewer this year. Wasn't there a big truck sales offer at GM this month? They had Silverado in both the 20% off and $10,000 off (different program) promotions after June's miserable sales. Down 4% in July? I'd hate to see what the results would have been *without* these programs.
rmc523
I think that's the first ATS increase in quite some time.
fordmantpw
According to GM, I thought the Silverado was 'demolishing' Ford truck sales?
BORG
Ford and GM incentive spending this month were about the same however, last year Ford was lower by $1,000. Now both of them spend an average of $4,000/vehicle, GM a smidge more. Increased incentive spending is what caused the problems with Ford financials. Ford's profitability is very much pegged on the margins for the F-Series which shrank quite a bit this year. That might improve with the launch of SuperDuty by this time next year. jpd80
According to GM, I thought the Silverado was 'demolishing' Ford truck sales? When you look at combined Silverado and GMC sales they are... F Series - 65K Silverado - 54K Sierra - 22K That's 11K over F Series and then they add Colorado and canyon sales... IMO, Ford needs Ranger GM’s ATPs, which reflect retail transaction prices after sales incentives, were $34,887, more than $4,100 above the industry average and more than $1,100 above last July’s performance GM’s incentive spending thru July 24th was 14.2 percent. Final July incentive spend is expected to be in line with domestic competitors. GM’s temporary spike in incentive spending resulted from an eight-day sale in early July to begin the sell-down of several 2016 model year vehicles. GM’s incentive spending average for the year is 11.4 percent, compared to an industry average of 11.0 percent and well below other domestic and select Asian competitors. Ford’s overall transaction pricing also grew $1,600 in July versus a year ago – more than double the industry average – driven by the continued higher mix shift to trucks and SUVs. jpvbs
I just noticed the Canyonado sales were very strong last month. I know I was curious to see if the heavy incentives on the full size trucks would hurt the mid size trucks. It seems they did not. Were there significant incentives on the mid sizes too? Fgts
All new Camaro is a huge flop, and seems like they don't care. Like GM wants to kill it and make more Utes? I highly doubt it, it's not like the old F-body Camaro where it had a dedicated plant and only shared its platform with Firebird.

RichardJensen
YTD: 460,901 F-Series vs. 456,662 GMT I expect that the GMTs will outsell the F-Series, combined, over the full year with the SD changeover.

Maybe GM made a mistake listening to the fanboys on GMI who wanted a smaller lighter Camaro on the Alpha platform.

PREMiERdrum
The SS did almost as many this month, wonder why? The SS was included in the 20% off deal and its fate is sealed. That was all the motivation some of the faithful needed to finally buy the damn thing.
