BORG
Continental certainly has more style and luxury, even if it's technologically under-developed compared to what the Genesis has to offer at the same money. The Genesis has far less to do with Hyundai than Continental has to do with Ford. Edited September 6, 2016 by BORG
blwnsmoke
Love how people can't proof read their articles.. It says 3.3T V8 the. References if the v6 isn't powerful, you can opt for the 5.0 v8.
twintornados
Yeah...but it is still, a Hyundai...
sullynd
Yeah...but it is still, a Hyundai... Only in the sense that a Lincoln is a Ford, or a Lexus is a Toyota.
hermans
The article says that it will hit the dealer lots at the end of the month. I saw one this last weekend while driving in the Philadelphia area, It came up behind me and I first thought it was a Chrysler 300. When it passed me it was a Genesis and clearly like the one in the picture. Edited September 6, 2016 by hermans
atomcat68
This won't bring many BMW or MB buyers, but I do think this will be a hit for Hyundai. It will stop happy Hyundai buyers from looking elsewhere and take sales from brands with less loyal fan bases like Infiniti, Lexus, Cadillac, Acura, and yes, Lincoln. akirby
I don't think it will be that much of a hit. The less expensive Genesis sedan didn't break any sales records and it's significantly cheaper. I think they'll sell ok to faithful Hyundai/Kia owners looking to move up. BORG
You also have to look at global sales to determine the success of a product, the Genesis is in more markets (especially Asia) than Lincoln. So in reality, they might sell more cars than Lincoln which is why Lincoln's product development is mostly focused on design and marketing instead of bespoke engineering. I don't think Genesis will be a big seller here anytime soon. But with Hyundai surpassing Ford sales globally, I don't think there is any doubt they can make this work and they certainly have the commitment to do it.
