BORG
Doesn't quite add up, certainly won't be a 2017.
fuzzymoomoo
I'm with BORG. There's no way it will be a 2017 model, especially since 2017 Mustangs have been in production for 6 months.
fordmantpw
This seems like deja vu. Haven't we seen this same thing before? I think we have...
jpd80
Wow, who knew that googling on the internet could be wrong......I'm devastated.... OH, here's the link that is supposed to be Shelby the 2017 GT500 but has a default V6 Fastback content: www,ford.com/cars/mustang/trim/shelby/gt500 Now if you go back to the previous part of the link, trims: www,ford.com/cars/mustang/trim/ You don't get a link to the GT500 page and going to trim/shelby/ just briings up an error. I'd say it's the previous GT500 link overwritten and broken deliberately by Ford... Once again a concocted story by those in the media that should know better. I'd usually say unbelievable but with this lazy skim the tag, "researched journalism" does not apply. SoonerLS
This seems like deja vu. Haven't we seen this same thing before? I think we have... Now that you mention it, the "placeholder in the HTML" bit does sound very familiar.

FWIW, I got the same result (base V6 Mustang) when I tried the following URLs: http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/trim/shelby/gt350/ http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/trim/shelby/gt370/ http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/trim/shelby/boss/ http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/trim/shelby/ Also, this is the correct URL for the GT350: http://www.ford.com/performance/gt350/ I'm not sure why they'd expect to find the GT500 under the trim/shelby structure... jpd80
Because IIRC, the last GT500 was in that place, I'm thinking that when Ford updated the website for the 2015 Mustang, they disabled the old GT500 link and then just added the GT350 and GT350R when they became available. Gnostic
2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Spy Photos Disclosed; Will It Arrive A Year Ahead Of Scheduled Release? The 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, thought to soon become the fastest car in its segment, was slated to be released in 2018. However, spy photos and leaked details of the car led to speculation that it might be available as early as 2017. If this happens, Chevrolet Camaro LZ1 might be facing stiff competition in 2017 onwards. http://www.autoworldnews.com/articles/24636/20161213/2018-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500-spy-photos-disclosed-will-it-arrive-a-year-ahead-of-scheduled-release-video.htm
fordmantpw
Copy/Paste/Forget to Delete/CMS defaults 'Page Not Found' to another page. Been there, done that.

Good thoughts, SoonerLS, I think they just googled GT500 like I did and filtered through the result for an official Ford website. The point being that just because a link exists, does not mean that their hypothesis is true and indeed, probably more like the computer management system glitch you mentioned. robertlane
The next bad Mustang may not even be called a GT500 or a Shelby GT500. Regardless of the name, It will come out swinging pretty hard and you will absolutely love it as it will be the baddest Mustang EVER. Yes, ever.

jpd80
Yeah, Ford could pick a Mustang type at will, any of them would be a success.. So much depth wit good heritage names.
