Is this a new Ford Explorer spied testing in Colorado?

Recommended Posts

As i said to others, I'm prepared to be proven wrong on the RWD suggestion, I just don't see Ford doing as much (giong RWD)

as some suggest, the only advantage would be to use more of F150/Mustang RWD powertrain and gearboxes and hybrid module.

Is it a loose coalescing of all those elements or just adaptation as necessary?

I'm not suggesting that this is a quick and dirty modification of CD4 to CD6, quite the opposite actually,

that Ford has finally within its grasp an architecture that can cover everything that's needed under one

product envelope form mid size to large Utes and cars with ICE, Hybrid and pHEV all catered for.

Does that sound like a RWD platform?

I think this is the same one that was photographed a few weeks ago.

PD said it was a frankenmule. CD6 platform with current Explorer top hat

I missed your quote in the first page of the thread...very interesting.

Could this be an attribute prototype for the Lincoln Aviator?

The fact that they used a current Explorer body suggests

that the proportions of the two vehicles are very close.

You've just stepped over the line...

I'll remove your quote so you can rephrase what you just said

Fuzzy's contact said he wasn't sure on the details...

You said CD6 doesn’t exist and I posted 2 sources plus what Fuzzy said which contradicts your position.

I did not, you just assumed that's what I meant..

You're having difficulty reading and comprehending my post

I haven't seen anyone come out and say, yes there is a project called CD6 and its RWD

I'm not denying the presence of a CD6 project, just the constant assumption that it will be RWD

when Ford has shown absolutely no interest in developing more RWD.vehicles, the head of

Lincoln said as much when he was interviewed a few years ago.

I cannot find any validation from a reliable Ford source to say that CD6 definitely is RWD,

more than the 'net circular rumor confirmation over the past two years..

PremeirDrum’s contact said Explorer and Aviator would be RWD. The media report said CD6 would be capable of RWD. An engineer at Ford was reported to be in charge of Explorer, Mustang and Lincoln vehicles. It doesn’t make sense for Mustang to continue on a bespoke platform. All of that together points to RWD.

So is this the same mule we saw on video last week?

That one looked to be sitting lower...or are my eyes playing tricks?

This one and the other one do seem to be riding lower to the ground then the current gen.

But this is nothing more then an Frankenmule

like this:
