I still haven't driven one yet, but hoping to do so soon. Edited January 25, 2018 by IMSA-XJR9
brucelinc
Reasonable comments in this review. Personally, I think the Black Label Continentals are over priced and that makes them less competitive than the Reserve series. At nearly 80 grand I couldn't overlook any flaws. At 60 grand, I could be a bit more forgiving.
jcartwright99
I read it. The first few paragraphs were dumb, dissing on the the older 97 Conti. Then the writer couldn't even get those facts correct (he eventually updated). If you are going to go off on a tangent and criticize, then at least take the time to know what you are talking about. Those Conti's got a bad rap, they weren't the greatest but the weren't the worst either. The air suspensions in them were great but a huge PTA once they had a problem. Anyhow, the new Continental is pretty good car. However, the fully loaded Black Label car is probably not in the pricing sweet spot. For me, a 2.7 AWD with the select plus package plus a few other options makes it much more appealing price wise.
2b2
I just remind myself that the Audi speshul-programme ("exclusive"?) includes $8,000 paint job options (old info could be More now) & that Lincoln is still figuring [bL] out & everything other than F-150 & Mustang is either a half-hearted obligation or a HOBBY disclaimer: grumpy(er than usual)

I dont see where the 95-02 Conti was any worse than the Cadillac STS/SLS of the same time. The only difference was the Seville was a little better looking IMO. But technology wise and power and quality. Minimal difference.
brucelinc
Actually, the interior of the old Continental was very luxurious and competitive at the time. I strongly considered one but got an LS instead.
akirby
I strongly considered one but got an LS instead. I added a wood kit to my LS dash. Without it that was a pretty bland center stack.
