What Is The Purpose Of The Headliner Circular Vents Holes

Recommended Posts

I noticed there are 2 separate circular vent holes in the headliner above the driver and front passenger seats. Very small circles (nickel size) with tiny dot like holes. What is the function!

Its the microphone for the active noise canceling.

You will have to use the turn knob just below the screen. May have to turn it up over half to drown out all the noise. Unfortunately that type of noise gets louder as the noise canceling radio gets louder. Sometimes the pitch goes up too.

If Ford would invent a mute button for the passenger they’d sell millions of them.

And don't forget the kiddos in the back...Oh, we have electronic devices now to keep them shut-up and brain dead.

But eventually the kids grow up and are no longer in the car.....

You'll also notice at least one in the back seat toward the center, at least in most CD4 vehicles.
