ddwhpl
The 2019 Fusion SEL has seats called ActiveX. I understand the technology from a Ford media article, but can't determine if the seats are cloth, vinyl, leather, etc. Does anyone know? I think it's either leatherette or combination of leatherette and cloth. Won't know for sure until Ford provides more detail on the 2019 Fusion fact sheet. https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/product/2019/fusion/19-fusion-factsheet.pdf

jpd80
Partial Leather. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/ford/fusion/2019/ 2019 Ford Fusion SEL: Moving up to the SEL trim adds memory settings to the power driver’s seat, heated front seats, ActiveX seating (partial leather), an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a quick-entry system, remote engine start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and LED headlights.

fordmantpw
I bet fordmantpw thought this was a Microsoft topic....... LOL! I thought about a snarky ActiveX post before I saw yours, but truth is, I always hated ActiveX anyway. Side note...an internal portal web site that I built for a client 15+ years ago was just phased out because the ActiveX menu control won't work on Windows 10.
rperez817
Partial Leather. Thank you for that info from Motor Trend jpd80 sir. Sounds like the ActiveX seats in 2019 Fusion SEL will be similar to 2018 Fusion SE Appearance Package seats. But with leather rather than leatherette.

SoonerLS
ActiveX sounds better than partial leather trim Unless you're in IT...

ice-capades
You're welcome. I knew that I'd seen something on ActiveX in one of the reviews. ActiveX sounds better than partial leather trim Yes but what good is just calling it ActiveX in the order guide and not mentioning whether it's cloth, partial leather or anything else. Besides, traditionally the SEL trim levels always included leather seats so now it looks like they've messed up the SEL's distinction.

But not always, Ford trim names mean different things for different models. SEL Focus and Flex for some years has cloth seats.
akirby
SEL was the top trim before Titaniums. Now its mid grade.

twintornados
Hey...who remembers Ford Dura-Weave from the 70's?? Dad's 1975 F250 had a bench seat covered in that <ahem> 'fabric'....it was cooler than the vinyl seats in the shop vans for sure...
rperez817
ActiveX appears to be a leatherette type material. Here are some photos of a 2019 Fusion SEL.
Assimilator
My sister has a 2010 Ford Edge (160,000 miles) that's even starting to rust out, but the interior synthetic leather has held up extremely well, almost no wear and it cleans up easily which is important because of her kid. The premium leather in my MKX is very rich and soft, but it stains at the drop of...well anything. I stopped wearing blue jeans because they would stain the seats. I'm definitely onboard with well engineered synthetic leathers. Edited September 21, 2018 by Assimilator
