Hooch252
I wish Ford would bring back the Excursion! I Love my 2003 but its rusting out...
twintornados
Ford Expedition EL is a close replacement, unfortunately they do not spec a 3/4 ton (Super Duty) variant of Expedition so you are relegated to searching the used truck market. Or, if you have the financial ability, get a hold of these guys... http://www.customautosbytim.com

NLPRacing
The current expedition shares a lot with the F-series cab. I wonder if an Expedition Max body would "bolt on" to a Super Duty frame with a few floor pan modifications. An Expedition Max with a Super Duty front end would make a great new Excursion. Especially with the gas 7.3 V8 & 10 speed auto.
Stampede.Offroad
This seems like another segment Ford might want to step back into, now that they're ditching sedans and "cars" in general in favor of multipurpose models. The big 7.3 gasser might be a good option for such a model if it were sufficiently efficient to avoid some of the stigma the old one garnered. There is a niche there but probably not big enough to be profitably filled ! You also have to remember, that the Sierra Club and every other "tree hugger" severely criticized Bill Ford for that vehicle ! He took it very personal. Even though it sold well in its market, Bill does not want to be known a "anti-green". The best thing they could do, is a 6 door SuperDuty with a short bed.
