Exhaust fumes in new Nautilus

Recommended Posts

When under heavy acceleration (NOT FLOORED) merging into highway traffic or passing another vehicle.  The interior of my NEW Nautilus fills with the rotten egg smell of exhaust.  This is the exact same problem I had with my ’16 MKX and even after the dealer preformed the recommended procedures in Technical Service Bulletin 18-2057 which supersedes TSB 17-0035 the problem was less but was still present.  This is one of the reasons, plus a few more that I got rid of the MKX and ordered a new Nautilus.  NOW I find out that I spent $63,000 for a vehicle with the same problem.  When in the hell is Ford/Lincoln going to get their shit together.

The vehicle was built 6-18-2019 and delivery on 7-5-2019.  Current mileage is 1800

Sounds as though you're getting high sulfur fuel-- try top tier from a major supplier with high turnover of fuel. My 2016 MKX has never had that problem. My only problems have been an exterior temperature sensor, replaced under warranty & a raw fuel smell on start up corrected by the dealer tightening up everything under the hood.

Well, are you @RickinLA or are you @Rick65inLA and I would like to know what the dealer says on the issue? Have you brought it back in to have them check the exhuast and/or HVAC systems yet?

Are you running the HVAC in recirc mode? I've noticed that if I have the system set to bring in outside air, I pick up many more unpleasant 'fragrances' than when in recirc mode.
