weiweishen
We saw a Ford SUV in I-94 West bond near I-275 in Michigan. It looks like a production vehicle. But we have never heard about it. Is it a new SUV?
AGR
It is a Ford Everest. The Everest is a BOF SUV based on the Ranger. It is sold overseas and there are no plans to sell it here, as far as I know.

It' actually sold in a lot of countries, Australia happens to be one of them, was designed to compete with Landcruiser 120 (Prado)

For those not familiar with the Prado it forms the basis for the Lexus GX SUV.

rperez817
Here is the Ford Thailand webpage for Australian designed Everest. Thailand is one of the countries where this vehicle is assembled. https://www.ford.co.th/en/suvs/everest/
twintornados
Well, seeing as Everest shares DNA with Ranger and the upcoming Bronco one bet would be that Everest (and in India, Endeavour) is getting the chassis upgrades that Ranger and Bronco will be debuting ... 2

sullynd
Anyone have a size comparison between this, Explorer, and Expedition? It’s close to Explorer in size and doesn’t really split the difference, right?

I think that would sell well here but we're getting the Bronco instead which will be even better.

T-dubz
Make all the chrome body colored, give it the edge st grille and slap some better tail lights on it and it’d be a pretty nice looking suv.
probowler
Nice is a little generous, it's got every offensive modern detail a poor soccer mom could ask for. It's less ugly than a lot of other utilities tho, so I guess it's got that going for it?
2005Explorer
That's pretty much just an SUV version of the current T6 Ranger. It even has the same dash. It's pretty much what the Explorer was to the old Ranger before the 2002 model. I've had my 2019 Ranger parked next to a co-workers 2018 Explorer and it's a lot narrower. I doubt they will bring this to the US since the T6 based Bronco will be the "off road" midsized SUV here.

The Everest is much smaller, like a tall 2020 Escape.
ausrutherford
Usually the Everest launches 2 years after the Ranger, so if the next Ranger is MY22, then the next Everest is likely MY24. BTW: I would say the Everest is more of a Fortuner competitor since the Prado is still in the Land Cruiser "luxury" arena.
