CLTEcoBoost
Fusion made it into the top 20 for Q3 (as #20), outselling the Malibu, Optima, Sonata, Legacy, 6 and Passat. Makes you wonder... Late yesterday, Ford announced that the Explorer ('20) and '20 Escape are being recalled. Yep, Escape already. And something with the Super Duty pickups. Having troubles with rollouts, for some reason.

Moot point going forward though. Sounds like they're going to reduce incentives and reduce production to match real demand.

Navigator does not seem to maintain a pace of growth to reach Escalade. Nautilus has very good sales and solid growth. The best of expectations are with Corsair to me. Escalade has had such a built in customer base that you're not going to eat into that anytime soon. It's going to take years of consistent Navigator updates to chip into that lead Escalade has since Navigator was neglected for a decade 3 hours ago, twintornados said: Consider that if Lincoln kept the naming scheme going with the MK (insert favorite consonant here) there would be no change in the charts. Another way to look at is it Escape (and Explorer) got a re-design as well and the sales charts don't break out "old" Escape and "new" Escape.... I know. I understand the thought of it. Just seems odd. Did they combine (rental) Taurus and Fusion because it was the replacement in the same segment? I guess it really doesn't matter - like I said, it's just the OCD kicking in, and would've made it easier to analyze how quickly/when MKC truly phases out and how Corsair jumps and maintains. Because technically they'll have to wait a full year from the last MKC sale to remove it from the sales charts.

As a 2019 Ranger owner, I'm very thankful that Ford managed to pull off the U.S. Ranger launch as smoothly as they did. One advantage for 2019 Ranger is that even though it's new for U.S. and Canada, the same truck was introduced in other markets nearly a decade ago. There were growing pains but nothing that was detrimental and that's the key. MAP launch team has their shit together. With the amount of money spent and lost investing in Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo, it would give Ford to invest and make LINCOLN a brand as competitive as Lexus since the 90 years. If they had changed the name to Corsair 2 years ago like Nautilus, then we wouldn't be having this conversation at all. Just like we won't have an issue when Nautilus goes to a new platform. Or when Explorer went from D4 to CD6. Or when Edge went from CD3 to CD4. If they had replaced MKT with Aviator I wouldn't have a huge objection to combining them either but they're not doing that. But yes I understand the OCD issue. Ford could benefit from a little Corporate OCD... it may have taken a whole lot longer for the first 2020 Explorer to role off the line, but it would have been absolutely perfect! jasonj80
It’s no excuse, but the start/stop/hold/start/cancelled/start again/pause/start/timeline of the Explorer/Aviator project didn’t help. This program spans Mulally, Fields and Hackett. That’s on top of the external forces that no one could have seen. Ford is working as fast a possible to fix the issues, some are engineering, supplier and plant issues. Things not being installed correctly / not at all. HotRunrGuy
Now that Ford has started combining F-150 & Ranger numbers to state best selling "truck", how long before GM decides to combine Silverado/Sierra/Colorado/Canyon numbers, and claim best selling truck Company, rather than a brand?
