I know for a fact we will have several pissed off reservationists that called SPECIFICALLY to see if our Dealership would honor Plan pricing...now what do we say/...sorry?...expect some cancelled reservations...not that Ford cares...they have a history of NOT looking at the big picture...it really is a slap in the face of Vendors that supply them, Stockholders, Employees of both Corporate and Dealerships and retirees….its basically nothing more than unadulterated greed IMO.

I think the bigger problem with it too is that they said a while back certain plans would apply (can't remember which ones.   A and D maybe?) - as you said, some people went with that, and now Ford is changing their mind.  If it had been that way since day 1/never available until '22, people could perhaps understand more, but changing their mind makes it worse.

September if not a smidge earlier, not as bad as first thought.

Yeah, as I said privately, I figured I'd be a '22 with the delays, but sounds like that may not be the case, which is exciting.

No x plan was announced a couple of months ago so that’s not a surprise.

Yes, but at the time, they said some of the other plans would apply.

Almost the same as mine! I thought you were in an OBX.

I'm a 4 door Cactus Gray Big Bend Mid Package with the 2.3 and the MIC top, and a 7/13 - 9:45pm timestamp.

Short of more delays, I'm hoping to see her late June / early July.

Obviously take it with a grain of salt but the polls I saw on Bronco6g had Big Bend being the least popular trim ordered. So given your time stamp and configuration (Big Bend, 2.3 over the 2.7, MIC top over the black top) you should be sitting pretty! I'll keep my eyes out for you when I visit my friends in CBus this summer.

They actually said in the call yesterday that a 4 door Big Bend Auto 2.3 Auto soft top has the lowest risk of commodity issues of any possible combination... so my only risk is the MIC roof.

When you're in Columbus this Summer we're meeting up for beers (and Broncos of course)!

I changed my mind since the OBX was going to get too pricy without a plan discount and I wasn't a fan of the body colored fenders on it. I gave up a couple niceties that I really didn't need or could just add down the road.

I’m in the same situation, I really want the high package for the 12” display but don’t “need” it.  I am leaning Big Bend 2.7 (4-door) at the moment.  Although my first reservation was 7/31 so I will likely be looking at a ‘22 model which opens up more options.

I figure you should be able to swap it out. I’d like the charging pad and other things also, but I’m gonna bet that they will be easy to add down the road.

the other good thing is the Big Bend has the least ugly color cloth interior combos. Not sure on some of the other trims. The Marine grade vinyl would be nice though.

So true on the interior colors!  That is another factor.  I couldn’t settle on an exterior color to pair with the Navy Pier theme in the OBX.  With Big Bend, I can choose any exterior color and be super comfortable with the appearance.  Which brings up another point, I still have to decide on an exterior color (Area51, Silver, Velocity Blue, and Grey are in the mix).

It’s called taking care of your employees and keeping up morale.  And it’s still a vehicle sale.  It only costs Ford around 4% of dealer invoice - they’re not losing money.  In the long run it’s a good investment.

Maybe.  There are other ways to keep up morale and take care of employees.  Bronco wouldn’t be the first vehicle Ford didn’t offer employees special pricing on if indeed they don’t offer it.  If they don’t, it will be because getting more Broncos out to non-plan customers at full price was deemed more profitable.  The first year looks like it will be a struggle to meet demand, and I think non plan buyers would be much more likely to cross shop potentially costing a sale.  Therefore it would be better to not offer plan pricing the first year.  When supply starts to exceed demand, then add the plan pricing back in. Sure some employees will be upset, some always are.  The question becomes how upset will they be?  Never buy another Ford upset, or wait for the (hopefully) larger profit sharing check and buy a second year model?

I get Dean’s point on changing the terms in the middle of the process.  Terrible spot to put dealers in.

Every time that has happened in the past it's either been the low production SVT/Ford Performance vehicles or dump trucks. Never have I seen it with a high volume model like this. Not for A/Z plan at least.

Lots of people seem to take issue with the Navy Pier interior color combo. I dont mind it at alll! For the OBX though I actually really like Roast/Black Onyx. Only thing I wish they did was use the same template they used in the reveal. The colors might not be the exact same but I liked the stitching and the way the brown accented the black at the top of the seats. In regards to exterior color, I have been back and forth on all the same colors as you. I think the carb grey compliment the body lines of the bronco nicely! I keep coming back to Area 51 though as it is the only color that is currently only available on the Bronco. Who knows how long the color will be in production?Gallery: 2021 Ford Bronco interior

The first photos of it where pretty horrible and I get this feeling that there are alot of older folks that don't like change that would buy the higher end models bitching about it.

Some of the dash color combos I've seen have given me pause in other models though.

Don't you think in MY22 or perhaps MY23 Ford will have added a neutral color to each trim level? Similar to what they did to the FE model.

I just got the call from my dealer's "Bronco Specialist" asking me to get my build sheet in to him this weekend so they have it ready to go in the WBDO system Tuesday afternoon when ordering opens. They are trying to submit orders in reservation timestamp order, and I'm reservation #1 at their store. ?

I'm not sure if this is just because my cousin is the dealer's GM, but there is no requirement to physically visit the dealer to sign anything. They are just using the buildsheet I submit to order.

Wish me luck!

Think I’m leaning towards 2 dr outerbanks now. It seems to be the cheapest way to get Lux package. The painted fenders don’t look great with some colors but I think it will look fine in carbonized gray. Some aftermarket wheels on 33’s would look pretty good. Glad I’m not a reservation holder. I change my mind so much on what trim to get that I don’t think I’d be ready to put in an order ?

Yeah, Ford needed to put out high quality pictures of the different trims in real life, not the terrible WTF pictures and videos Bronco Nation spit out, but is what it is.  FWIW, I like the blue, but I wasn't lucky enough to get a 1st edition, nor do I want to go with OBX.

This problem was further created by the reveal models featuring one off interiors - people loved them and expected to be able to order those, when they were, in fact, just one offs.

The oddity about Bronco's interior is the effective "pick a trim level to pick your interior color" approach.  Granted, some of that does happen in other models (for example, F-150 Limited has only the Admiral Blue leather option), but typically there's either a light color or dark color option on most trim levels.  This differs on a model like Wildtrak especially, which gets the option of tan or tan, or if you're feeling adventurous, tan (that decision made even more ironic by the fact that Wildtrak is the model that gets black accents everywhere, yet doesn't have a black interior option).  So to get something like black, you'd have to switch to a Badlands, vs. just checking "black" for the interior.

I'd imagine additional colors are on the way, and at this point that - aside from appeasing the whining First Edition holders - they're trying to limit build configurations so they can get them out the door.  I'm assuming that heritage package will have some sort of unique interior setup (I'm guessing something similar to the Cactus gray/white interior model).

This is symptomatic of the initial plan to release these "themed packages" instead of trim levels. As the idea was watered down a bit prior to launch by turning the packages into pseudo-trim levels, the curated nature of each identity became a bit less palatable.

I expect the Big Bend's two interior palates will be made available to OBX and WT buyers my MY22, and perhaps a backing away of one of the other interior schemes.
