How true dark, da Trumpster won`t be involved at all. Besides he`s busy makin things great again.... Dol and the Labor/Education committee will be more than glad to take a hand off from the FBI and IRS to take the drivers seat. I think the Teamsters come out of their 30 year oversight term next year.

Wonder how many of the negotiating team members will be plugged into the IUAW vacancies? Then all the new appointments from those plug ins? The mad scramble is already started with the comparing Dittes to Gamble. I`m sure there will be the same "grooming" for positions going on as there always has been.

Hey Ididntdoit, I don't have time to look for another union cause I'm out of here on this contract.  My list of pluses and minuses are facts, not my opinion or my vote.  I stated at the beginning of the post that I wasn't surprised at the no votes and the list is why I think there were so many no votes. However, on my list I do think that no raise for our brothers and sisters who are already retired and losing their Xmas bonus too is unconscionable.

Neither do I, and I will also be taking my leave once we finally get this ratified. I can sit here and poke holes in the contract all day, but at the end I know it's not gonna get much better then what it is.

I NEED it to pass now not in 4 more weeks so they can reword a few things so it makes it sound like you got something.

The whole retiree thing was lost cause since the early 90's and has withered away since, you can not depend on it. I wish they had known better then as I do now. I'm not even eligible for retirement I'm going with STEP. It's not worth another 4 years, I'm out while I'm young enough to do something.

I feel I have better chances investing in bitcoin then relying on a pension that may or may not be there when I'm of age.

I feel bad for the retiree's, but I'm not gonna give up my exit for their raise. They left me a crooked union, those 10 convicted IUAW can pay for their raise. Dennis can invite them over to the cabin to see their bonus.

Being 3rd generation watching my grandparents and parents retire with decent plans that got hacked away over the past, I know I have to do more then Ford and the UAW can offer me.

And as far as my fellow brothers and sisters, most don't even have a pension anymore. They won't get the benefits the retirees have now. Should they fight for more for them? when there's only so much on the table who is priority?

Maybe if we didn't have to fight for temps and 5 tiers there would be more on the table for retirees.

I have a solution though, we hold all convicted IUAW accountable for every dime embezzled and reward it to the retirees. I'm more willing to fight for that, then to vote this contract down or even think about striking over it.

Bottom line is we pay for union representation and they aren't earning their pay as a matter of fact they are stealing it from us. They've been caught and convicted and still more falling yet we gave them the right to bargain for our contract and this is what we got. If you are not happy FIRE THE DAMN UNION.

I'm not sticking around to pay for their parties anymore.

You are correct about Scandinavian Democratic Socialism but you are wrong about the World Socialist Website. The World Socialist is an international socialist news site that is the online news and information publication of the International Committee of the Fourth International. They are unabashed Marxists... Trotskyites, to be precise.

I am not wrong, I said nothing about The World Socialist group. I was just talking about the difference between the two political groups I mentioned.

Ididntdoit, I believe you are one of the few who can see into the future. I wish the 401k had been offered to us instead of the company pension.  My retirement in the past 12 or so years has relied solely on the generosity (lol) of the company for any increase since we don't benefit from the upswings of the stock market.  Thus, I'll be retiring on a pension that peaked 13 yrs ago.  Thankfully I started a tesphe shortly after I hired in, but the company pension plan being stagnate all these years has pissed me off.  Plus I have to live with the uncertainty of is the pension underfunded or will Ford go broke before I die.  Never know whose stealing and whose lying.

Fighting for advances for 2nd tier and freezing legacy is how we meet in the middle.  Basically, by the time 2nd tier reaches out wage scale, which has been stagnant and not even kept up with inflation,  we are both making a lousy wage.  This was the company strategy all along.  Legacy pay scale is now about five-seven dollars below what it use to be.

The ironic part about the uaw fighting for no increases in our health insurance is that they then turn around and vote for a democratic who wants a single payer insurance.

Best of luck in the next chapter of your new life. You'll be much happier.

401K and TESPHE are both tied to the same income generating source, the market. So is there a more thankful income generating pocket to be in?

Another ironic point is when members with a plan in place speak of health insurance. A question could be better served by asking is the IUAW VEBA going to be solvent enough to with stand another serge in retirement members without the already high co pays not going higher?

Then there is the fact Ford is not giving or paying retirement incentives. The retirement fund that Ford administers pay`s every incentive, (not stock holders) so look forward to years of the retirement fund being under funded like in the recent past. Bethlehem Steel used its under funded retirement fund as an addendum in their bankruptcy proceeding. Currently the fund Ford administers, is under funded by a smaller amount than it`s been in many years but, they just got the check book out again.

I too wish all our members with a plan the best of luck.
