rmc523
Corsair gets this result too. They say Corsair's base headlights cause too much glare. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/11/15/2020-ford-escape-lincoln-corsair-iihs-results/ Edited November 15, 2019 by rmc523
akirby
I've never had a glare issue with oncoming OEM headlights. Is it just me?

Some can be bright/brighter than others, but to the extent where it results in a lower safety pick, IMO, no.

Some people are more susceptible. Astigmatism, I just found out, seems to increase it. Last time I got glasses, they asked if I wanted the anti-glare, and they recommended it for those with astigmatism as bad as mine. I never had it before, so decided to get it this time. It's made a big difference in cutting down glare. 1

On the straightaway, Corsair base reflector LED headlamps exceed the glare thresholds by more than 300%! ? I thought Ford figured out how to better aim headlamps at the factory to avoid issues like this? They made aiming adjustments to 2019 Edge models with adaptive LED headlamps built after March 2019 to reduce glare. As a result, Edge received a Top Safety Pick rating for 2019. BuckeyeGoose
Some times it hard to tell if its an auto dim issue or crap aftermarket lights at night for me. Tho I did just see an idiot in a MB that had blue LEDs in the headlamps that were close to the grill (I think they are normal amber/yellow running lights)
