Nutty 5.0
Please bring some sort of diesel option for these trucks! The 2.3 is great but with 7500 lbs towing it would be great to have a small diesel that can get better mileage and a little more capacity. fuzzymoomoo
Not happening, at least on this continent.
Stampede.Offroad
If you're willing to salvage one out of an F150 or Transit you could probably track down the parts to make it work. Your best bet would be to hope the 3.0L V6 turbodiesel in the Wrangler/Gladiator is a raging success, and instead of killing off the diesel options Ford expands them in the next gen Ranger/Bronco. Ranger load is most likely limited by the brakes and chassis. Putting a heavier engine between the rails will most likely lower the load rating. Modern diesels are maintenance whores. Timing belts, fuel filters every 15k, more oil at service intervals. You would have to own it for hundreds of thousands of miles to break even- if you don't get a bad tank of fuel and have to buy a complete fuel system.
