Purge Valve = Covered under emissions warranty?

Recommended Posts

I recently a stalling, and no starting issue with my 2017 Escape EB 1.5l

Check engine light came on as well.

$550.00 later they replaced the purge valve, which i contend is part of the emission system.

Dealer told me according to the computer, this particular purge valve is not covered.

Has anyone had a similar issue? was it covered.

How do i go about changeling the fact that the dealerships computer says its not a covered part?

Here Is 2017 MODEL YEAR WARRANTY INFO - https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/Catalog/owner_information/2017-Ford-Car-LT-Truck-Warranty-version-3_frdwa_EN-US_03_2018.pdf

There is also contact info for FORD SERVICE.

EMISSION WARRANTY IS 8/80,000. The PURGE VALVE is within the EVAP SYSTEM which is covered by the emissions warranty -

(look for EMISSION WARRANTY COVERAGE in the INDEX).

Make sure you have a dated/mileage copy of the DEALER REPAIR RECEIPT.

I am always late.

No, I just added this info as there are many accounts such as this. It would be interesting to see the results of any follow-ups.

When it is replaced by a dealer and they state not under warranty, it goes on a cash ticket and $550.00 is the usual result ($$$).
