YT90SC
Is the TCIL (Transmission Control Indiacator Lamp) flashing or the MIL (Check Engine Light) on? ****Absolutely**** Check for specific DTCs (codes) first. Lots of parts houses will read them for free. Is it flaring, sagging or just shifting hard? Do the shifts occur at the right time? Is it a specific shift? I.e. 1-2 or 2-1? Is it full? The fluid color good? Any contamination? Does it smell 'hot' or 'burnt'? Do the reverse lamps work correctly? Does it start normally in Park and Drive? Does it have engine braking in manual first and manual second? The AOD family are not complex transmissions at all, but basic information must be obtained.
