2020 Aviator Reserve Radar Detector Install

In order to power a radar detector, you need to plug in to the cigarette lighter inside the console.  This is awkward because of the cable hanging down from the windshield but even more annoying is that the cigarette lighter remains powered even when the vehicle is turned off.  You have to unplug the radar detector every time you turn off the car.  I always buy a third party wiring harness from Escort Radar detectors to power the detector from the rear view mirror.  This eliminates the need to run a long cable back to cigarette lighter or even the fuse box.  Has anyone done this to their 2020 Aviator?  Anyone know where you can get a wiring diagram?  Has anyone gone to a service center that does this like a stereo installer?

Thanks for any info.

I've always ordered the bare wire power cord and wired it into the fuse panel.  You can use a voltage tester to see which open fuse ports in the panel are "Switched" depending on ignition.   The best bet is to use one of these (link below)   Just crimp the positive wire to it, and ground the remaining wire.
