kyle
Interesting that they've already bought back only 2,666 of these vehicles at a cost of $47 million!!! This thing is going to haunt them for the next 5-10 years and I think they deserve it. Just a POS product that has pushed customer's away from ever buying the product ever again. https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2020/01/25/ford-fiesta-focus-transmission-settlement-deal/4554381002/

You won't get them to buyback a car that is outside of the factory warranty and at this point anything pre MY2016 is probably going to be out of warranty, and anything made after that don't seem to have as many issues by many accounts.

Quote The 2-1 appeals court decision also suggested the class-action lawyers didn't sufficiently represent consumers but rather pushed through the settlement based on their own financial interests. The agreement called for them to get nearly $9 million in fees.
jpd80
It’s always this way with settlements, the lawyers get paid first and their clients get what’s left. The only up side to this is that Ford will either keep fixing fiestas and Focus until customers are done with them or buy them back as trade ins on new Fords

It was sad seeing these former Ford owners say they will never buy another Ford...

While some owners have been really let down, the later vehicles seem to be holding up better.
jpd80
It’s so sad that Ford didn’t delay the 2012 Focus for three months, that would have given them enough time to get a much better initial calibration, that was a crucial miss. His car has not given him any problems...but his daughter's has been nothing but trouble. It left her and her family stranded in Tennessee during a vacation - Ford ended up paying a considerable sum for towing fees and repairs. He obviously believes that the problems are real, but would still buy another Ford. Don't know about the daughter and her husband.
Hugh
Ironically, I am glad I rolled my Fiesta opposed to dealing with the DCT. I brought it in twice and the shudder never went away. I told my spouse then we probably wouldn't get much back for a trade anyway.
