Baby Bronco offspring

Ford Bronco Sport (2-door with a rear hatch)

Ford Bronco Maverick (4-door with rear hatch)

Ford Bronco Scout (2-door pickup)

Ford Bronco Adventurer (4-door pickup)

Scout can't be used because it is owned by International Truck Intellectual Property Company, LLC, and has been since 2003 (probably because they created a holding company to hold their trademarks).  Unless Ford wanted to pay a bunch, I doubt International would license the name.  The trademark includes "Land vehicles over 2400 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW), licensed for use on public streets, highways as well as off road use, namely, light duty trucks excluding fire trucks, such as pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles, medium duty trucks, and severe service or vocational trucks."

Not true. Ford trademarked "Scout" and "Bronco Scout" last April.

The Bronco R racer was also supposed to be a test bed of the upcoming bronco platform correct? So it's really interesting to see the Bronco in a full-size body.

They don't have anything else in production right now that has a body that can fit that frame and wheel size and the actual production prototypes probably weren't ready to be on public roads yet.

The deal with trademarks is that anyone can file for any mark at any time and it will be granted a case number. That doesn't mean the mark has been granted. Likely the main reason Ford abandoned the application was that the due diligence done after filing determined that the cost to acquire or license the name from International, which had spent several years fighting to secure the name and had it granted, was way to high.

Wait'll FCA finds out Ford wants to use a Dodge trim line (Adventurer)....look what FCA did to Mahindra and their Roxor...front style is different for 2020 due to litigation from FCA.
