What’s the trick with the automatic tow/haul setting on the 2018+

Recommended Posts

Back to the original question. I haul a heavy 2 horse trailer regularly. The "trailer light" in the cluster often takes takes a few miles/minutes before it lights up. I presume it is monitoring some drive train dynamics. I believe this is how it is intended to work, not a problem.

I’ve been towing this trailer now for a couple weeks and sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesn’t.  It really comes down to weight and if I get on the highway or not.  Taking the LP tanks out of the front can keep the setting off until I get on the highway.  It’s a super sensitive system.  As stated before, the vehicle is far smarter than I when it comes to what it should do when towing a trailer.  I just keep it between the lines and enjoy the ride.
