rwarner812
Brakes were working fine the day before. Next day got in car and brake pedal went nearly to the floor with little resistance and very diminished braking. My mechanic tells me both rear calipers are retracting too far, so it take 2-3 pedal pumps to get the rear brakes to fully engage. Front brakes appear to be working fine, so most braking is being done by front. No warning lights or such. No prior brake problems or recent brake service has been done. Has anyone heard of or experienced this problem with the rear brake calipers on both sides consistently retracting too far? If so, what was the solution? YT90SC
95% of the time, replacing the caliper solves caliper retraction issues. Odd that two are though, but it is possible. I'd also replace the rubber lines to the affected calipers and thoroughly flush the system with the correct fluid. Think it is DOT 3 but don't quote me.
