Ford Puma Review

Recommended Posts

They have got to figure a way to get this here.  Just about every other manufacturer has something like this.  With no focus either the only thing Ford offers at the bottom of the market is Ecosport.  Had one as a loaner and it (an SES) was not that bad but certainly has 0% coollness to it.

I wonder if this will be the new affordable vehicle for North America?

Maybe with a different top hat?

The big thing is supposedly the Ecosport is going to be replaced by something more inline with NA/EU Tastes and the Kuga seems like its slotted a bit higher then Ecosport.

Maybe the Ecosport remains the entry level and the Puma or derivative is the product slotted between the Ecosport and Escape. Sorta like the old Festiva/Escort/Tempo or Contour was slotted back in the 1990s

THIS is what the Ecosport should have looked like...and they should have learnt that the 1.0 does NOT work in the US.

I've said for a while they just need to bring Puma over here.  I think it would do well.

Ford is supposed to have a rugged and sporty looking CUV in each segment so the new bigger EcoSport and Puma should coexist, both in the B-segment.

Puma is FWD only like Toyota CH-R. New EcoSport presumably will have AWD option given its original roots as solution for terrible roads in South America.

I’d have to see one in person, but from the pictures I’ve seen, the puma looks almost cartoonish from certain angles, while looking ok from others. I’m not sure it would do to well here. I believe it costs more than the Ecosport too, right?

Puma cost roughly the same as Focus in Europe. EcoSport starts below Focus but overlaps it quite a bit. However, a new generation EcoSport that is the right size should see a price increase in line with Puma.

Also I love how instead of pronouncing it like we do in the USA (Pooh-ma) the  pronounced it pyooouma.

I think you meant p-eww-mah

Funny how the English speak English and not ‘murrucan

Another one......Jag-wha and Jag-ew-ah

The only thing less cool than the name ecosport is being caught inside one.

The only thing better than that Puma is that guy's voice, pronunciation and delivery.   I would buy that car rather than have 2 Mustangs in the family - 1 Mustang and 1 Puma.    That water proof well in the back is a great feature for expanding capacity and would be great for tailgating.  .

I cringed every time Ant and Mike said that on Wheeler Dealers.  Like nails on a chalkboard!

I've tried to correct many from my country but it's an up hill battle......

On topic, I would hope that new Puma and Ecosport continue the soft versus rugged styling

that's being established .....so hoping that they add some classic styling cues to Ecosport,

it really needs to be styled like a squarer SUV to get the best out of limited space.

Euro cars are so dorky, but for what it is it's really well made and designed.  I hope this thing does really well over there, It's about time Ford Europe made a profit!

Very sharp color choice too, that blue is nice!
