  • Tesla Model 3 owners in China are angry after finding out the company quietly downgraded the chip inside their cars' computer to an older generation of hardware, Nikkei Asian Review reports.

  • The discovery was made after some customers noticed a mismatch between the part number printed on a sticker inside the car and the Model 3's information sheet.

  • Tesla apologized for the confusion and said supply chain problems caused by the coronavirus meant it was shipping units with the old chip.

Well it's a TESLA Chip, so it's 4-6 years more advanced than your typical vehicle electronics... so it's actually still generations ahead of anything ford or GM is putting out. It's really a great value proposition, and an innovative solution that only a disruptor like Tesla could ever produce.
