John Corso
It used to nag me about keeping both hands on the wheel. Now it's content to let me use just one. Was there a stealth firmware upgrade, or maybe a mileage threshold, or maybe it's just my car, which has 2,000 miles on the clock. Anybody else seeing this one-handed Lane Centering mode? Not sure about your car, but my 2018 MKZ has always only needed one hand on the wheel to avoid warnings. Good luck. jfischetti
I've always used one and never had issues. I've realized that it's not the touch of the wheel that triggers the sensor - it's resistance on the steering. I've been able to keep my knee on the wheel, with slight back and forth movements that kept the alert from going off for many miles.
John Corso
Excellent tip: thank you, jfischetti. I’ll practice nudging the wheel.
