Panel Lights Stay On, Battery Drain, Guage Cluster Warning Lights

Recommended Posts

Hey there forum, I have a 2008 Navigator with Navigation. I was hoping somebody could help me. I am having the exact same symptoms as this post below, but my passenger door pack is dead (unlock and window button not lit) Passenger Window / Locks works from driver master switch. I replaced the door ajar switch in driver door, and the park position switch is fine and makes a click by the guage / ignition when pressed. None of the doors have any effect on the dome lights coming on, they time out once car is started (as it thinks a door is open). I have tire, brake, door ajar, and no turn or high beam indicators on the gauge cluster. Panel lights stay on after key is pulled. GEMS SmartFuseBox was already replaced with known good one. Please let me know if this sounds like Instrument Cluster is bad, a master tech mentioned this as the cause on the post below. Are these plug and play to get the car started? Or will I have to visit dealer to get it married. Thank You! kman3786@gmail.com

Original Post of same symptoms:

I recently purchased a used 2007 Expedition EB/EL.
Symptoms that occur usually all at once
Dashboard (1-7)
1) “Tire Pressure Monitor Fault”
2) TPM symbol & Brake symbol
3)”Door Ajar”
4) Dashboard lights will not dim (radio does)
5) Dash turn signal indicators inoperative
6) Radio turns off, then on, then off, etc.
7) Noticed dashboard illumination won’t dim but radio lighting will
8) Rear hatch will not open when running

* Symptoms seemed to occur in the morning when it was cold then fade. Now they
seem to occur more frequently with longer duration.
** A dealer replaced the BCM and the problems still occur. They stated it may be “a
wire” and that all tire pressure sensors were ok after 3 weeks.
They stated the old BCM had moisture in it and that's why it failed.
