That’s awesome! I’m surprised they aren’t on backorder...
coupe3w
3 days? Why so long?
vipersinu2
One would think 8 hrs job. I would think is faster on a pickup b/c i seen videos where they remove the cab off the frame. It gotta be harder working inside the engine compartment of the navigator. But I agree, it should be an 8 to 12 hr job
vipersinu2
Job done, they also fixed the sunroof rattle. Impressed, no leaks, or missing screws, no scratches, Like it never happened. Lets see tomorrow morning on start up.
vipersinu2
Not sure about cold start, what do you think. The cam phaser might be fixed. Maybe tensioners are rattleing? Or is this normal? I hear it stop rattling about 1:10 in the video.
Black Label
Sounds normal to me, but I will have to check mine in a couple days when I get home.
bcparker2
Can confirm that's normal it's due to the waste gates on the turbo they are loose when cold which is why it takes about a minute to stop. That gives it a chance for the metal to expand and seat properly.

Black Label
Well, I don't know how to add a video to your YouTube video under the comments, but I took a video of mine and it sounded identical. A minute in, it stopped the noise. Edit: I trimmed this down to less than 10MB. You can hear the rattle and then it stops. Black Label
Oh hell, @vipersinu2, I went and found this and linked it to the other thread not even realizing they were both your threads. Sorry. It's all coming together now. Or, in the case of phasers with the plastic piece breaking off, it's all coming apart now.

vipersinu2
I waited 25 years to get a navigator, at 92k decisions. I am thing on trading in for a toyota.
Black Label
That's too bad. I hope you can get this resolved. My understanding is Ford developed variable cam timing. Just surprised to hear this about the plastic piece breaking so easily.
