09KR0058
Been wondering about the production of F150s, specifically if they are done in batches by trim line. For example, when they start a production run, do they do all the XLTs, then Lariats, then Platinums, then King Ranch, then Limited? It would seem that with all the different parts & options on each line this would make sense. (Actually hoping they do the Limited first so I can get my new toy sooner!) DearbornDerek
Nope. Everything comes down the line at the same time time. I may be wrong but I think we build them in the order the orders come into the plant.

Someone has to schedule them and if they were built in the order the order was received it would be chaos. For instance, have you ever seen multiple Raptors come down the line consecutively? Didn't think so. Consideration has to be taken to keep parts supplies coming and for sequenced parts to be kitted etc.
snake35
Does this apply to colour too?
