twintornados
Escort of that era had a diesel option (a buddy of mine had one), but I am guessing that this one is not a "GT" as they were not available from the factory like that....could be a previous owner put the GT grille and decals on it. But whooo hooo...a diesel AND a 5 speed stick!! PS: includes a CB radio?? How awesome is that?!? This was the 2nd/3rd update of that gen Escort platform. Seems like a lot of work-for just because 1982-1985/1985 1/2 MCE and 1989 update. Maybe.
T-dubz
Escort was one of my first cars. I always liked the look of the GT too.

Black Label
I had a red '90 Escort LX. Great car, had it for 10 years. If this one is not a real GT, someone spent a lot of money and tine getting GT wheels, spoiler, grill, ground effects, and air dam. But, saying all that, the seats don't look like GT seats from the limited views.

Good Lord, look at those great tall windows... BTW, the first new car I ever bought was an Escort sedan. Black Label
Isn't that a '91 when they did a redesign?
WillSD
17 hours ago, Black Label said: Isn't that a '91 when they did a redesign? Yes; the 1991's were so much nicer than the previous versions in my opinion. Better looking and ready to go right out of the box. For a small dealer, we sold quite a few 1991 GT's.

The fronts are, but I thought the backseats had head rests too. I had 1986 Escort GT as my first car.
92merc
I don't remember the Escort diesel. But I do remember the mid-80's Tempo diesel.

This is how I remember the front GT seats. Looks a little different than your original post. But hey, they could have had multiple sales based on color etc.

I think the seats on the GTs were similar though, for what it is worth.
