Sub pay during Stay at home furlough.

Many questions and concerns regarding the sub pay benefits during these lay off weeks.
The company has notified us that the FPUC ($600) is part of unemployment and therefore it will reduce or negate your sub pay.
There are many of us that believe this language is being misinterpreted and the FPUC benefit should not count against the Sub Benefit payout.
We have been in constant communication with the NFD (National Ford Department) and we have taken this to the highest level of the UAW. We are waiting on a determination from them.

Since Sub Pay is part of your benefits package, this issue CANNOT be resolved thru the grievance procedure, our only recourse of action (if we are not satisfied with the determination) is the appeals process through the Benefits Department.
So as of now we have to wait for a final determination from the NFD before we can proceed with the next step.

There are local union financial representatives putting forth the fact that SUB is based on each states unemployment insurance benefits. The $600 is a weekly Federal Emergency Grant that is being "administered" by each states employment securities departments. Which is an action made by both the House and Senate as part of the Federal Emergency Act, which has nothing to do with state funding in any capacity.

Hopefully this line of reasoning and the facts that the $600 is in reality a federal emergency grant and the IUAW can get their heads out of their favorite cooperate asses. :hat_tip:
