Fleets aren't keeping a F-150 for 200k miles.

I guess it depends on the size of the fleet or company.  My brother’s fleet has the following types of vehicles:

  • E150
  • F150
  • F250
  • Ranger (old model)
  • Transit Connect

He’s keeps every vehicle for over 200,000 miles.

There are exceptions. Major fleet buyers won't be doing anything like that.

My brother’s company is small. He usually keeps a couple of spare vehicles to cover “down time” for the primary vehicles.  Of course, the spares are the older vehicles.  I’m sure the dynamics of a large fleet are different.

This is what Ford considers a Fleet Buyer.

"Registered or leased for use in operation 5 or more new vehicles (any make or model) during the current or preceding calendar year

OR

Currently operate a fleet of 15 or more vehicles (any make or model)"

Not just a guy with a couple old Ford trucks and an old Ranger who lives in a van down by the river.

I haven’t counted lately.  It’s between 12 and 17 right now, all Fords.
