surfmore
Looking for any suggestions on changing the exhaust system for 2020 Navigator? Pros and cons? Also, if it' s changed does it do anything to the warranty?
akirby
Why? You won’t get any significant power gain. Do you want it to sound louder?
surfmore
That is why I'm asking, if I wanted louder I could probably just change the muffler. Do you get more power or is it a waste of money?

Also, if it' s changed does it do anything to the warranty? Hi surfmore. No power gain, no matter what the marketing materials may promise/state. Only louder, as akirby alluded to. The catalytic converters are the choke point in modern automotive exhaust systems. So changing the exhaust after the cats does nothing. And altering or removing the cats will cause you a host of warranty issues. As far as general warranty issues: Well, any problems connected to the exhaust (even remotely) could run into warranty issues later, if you have a problem. In an extreme situation, Lincoln/Ford could even deny coverage under sections of your emissions warranty. Not a definite result, but within the realm of possibility. The bottom line is an aftermarket exhaust is a waste of money, unless you only want a different sound/more noise. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. surfmore
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation, I will be leaving the exhaust alone.
bcparker2
If you want power and you don't care about the factory powertrain warranty you can give 5star tuning a call they offer powertrain warranties with their tunes. I've been running them for about 18k miles with no issues.

Factory exhausts are no longer a restriction like they used to be. If you want more power get a tuner as bcparker2 mentioned.
Black Label
So...it's agreed. Definitely get an aftermarket exhaust for more power. ?
vipersinu2
I would be more worried it will sound like crap. You will not get that v8 sound!
bcparker2
To my ears I've not heard one on a raptor that sounded good but there are many out there so I'm sure there is something for everyone out there.
