Exhaust

Looking for any suggestions on changing the exhaust system for 2020 Navigator? Pros and cons? Also, if it' s changed does it do anything to the warranty?

Hi surfmore. No power gain, no matter what the marketing materials may promise/state. Only louder, as akirby alluded to. The catalytic converters are the choke point in modern automotive exhaust systems. So changing the exhaust after the cats does nothing. And altering or removing the cats will cause you a host of warranty issues.

As far as general warranty issues: Well, any problems connected to the exhaust (even remotely) could run into warranty issues later, if you have a problem. In an extreme situation, Lincoln/Ford could even deny coverage under sections of your emissions warranty. Not a definite result, but within the realm of possibility.

The bottom line is an aftermarket exhaust is a waste of money, unless you only want a different sound/more noise.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation, I will be leaving the exhaust alone.

Factory exhausts are no longer a restriction like they used to be.    If you want more power get a tuner as bcparker2 mentioned.
