? Thanks.   Any speculation on an

extended run?

It's anybody's guess with the microchip shortage impacting production. I'd think back to late Fall at best but doubtful. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2022MY Job #1 Date was in early January again but it's anyone's guess until Ford actually releases the changeover timetable.

Thanks.   Considering getting a 2021,

Ford Canada was giving $7k

cash on the hood late last summer,

when you could still order a 2020.

I’m thinking a long production run increases likelihood

of a repeat of this.

Although , time will tell.

Nothing about the market is typical or normal this year. Manufacturers are reducing incentives wherever they can to try to preserve some profitability as compensation for the microchip shortage and the impact on production. In addition, Dealers are reducing or even eliminating their discounts on various models for the same reasons due to the tight inventory. Some think the microchip shortage will be resolved in the next 3-4 months and things will be back to normal which I think is highly optimistic and not likely.

Rebates seem to have dried up, not many cars available at the dealers, demand is far exceeding the current supply, wipes all the deals out.

Ford recently completely revised its incentives program, eliminating most retail cash incentives and relying more on trade-in related incentives. Going forward, Ford should learn to work with lower in-stock inventory thus reducing the need for the customer cash rebates that have dominated and controlled sales since they were introduced by GM in 1986.
