LJL
Hey guys, long time lurker....first time poster. My driver's side power window quit working a few weeks ago. Ime, with my 04 f150, it was either the window regulator or switch. So naturally I changed out the switch and when that didn't resolve the issue, I swapped the regulator.....which still didn't fix the problem. A friend suggested it could be a fuse. With all the other windows working, I assumed they were all on the same fuse. After doing some reading, I located the power window fuse and it was blown. I then replaced the fuse and the window worked a few times, but it blew again shortly after. I put another 30 amp fuse in the #12 slot, and it blew as soon as the prongs made contact. I took the door panel off and tried to look for bare wires, with no luck. I pulled the plug where the door wiring harness goes into the dash and checked it best I could with no obvious signs of a bare wire. While I had the harness disconnected from the dash, I put another fuse in and it blew instantly. So, does this mean my short is in between the plug in and the fuse box? Or can it still be in my door? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.
