redlinepilot
My evaporator died after 2.5 years in my 2016 GT, it was replaced by part #19850. One and a half years later the replacement evaporator died. Did service replace the evaporator with the same defective part or is #19850 the superseded new part. I have an issue with the short life span of the replacement evaporator assembly. Having my Dashboard removed again is very unsettling, maybe someone may shed some light, Thanks Edited October 14, 2020 by redlinepilot
WillSD
19850 is the "basic" number for the evaporator. The original part number ( FR3Z-19850-J ) has been superseded 4 times ( FR3Z-19850-N / FR3Z-19850-S / FR3Z-19850-W / FR3Z-19850-AB ). As noted, FR3Z-19850-AB is the current part number. Supersession can be the result of design changes, supplier changes or at the whim of Ford. Your original repair order should show which part number was used in the initial repair.
