First Light
My sales guy mention that after my new car arrived, Ford would add X number of dollars as a credit to my Rewards account that I could use to purchase parts, or pay for service work. What is this called, and how does it work on say a $45.000 purchase? Thanks. Not sure if this is the right forum to post this question, so Mods feel free to remove this sentence & move the thread. Alex D.
The first step is to download the Ford Pass app. My points appeared in the app after a couple of weeks after the car purchase. I'm getting my first service today and will attempt to redeem points. I'll follow up with how that process goes.
WillSD
Your selling dealer should install the Ford Pass app ( and activate the vehicle's modem ) on your smart phone during the delivery process. They should also enroll you in the Ford Pass Rewards program and input all of your vehicles ( even non-Ford vehicles are eligible for Ford Pass Rewards ). Upon agreeing to the terms & conditions, your Ford Pass Rewards account will be credited with 42,000 points ( 75,000 points for a diesel ). Points are worth 0.5% ( .005 ); your 42,000 points for new vehicle purchase are worth $210 ( $375 for a diesel ). You will earn 10 points for every $1 spent on qualifying parts & service repairs / purchases ( only Ford / Motorcraft / Omnicraft parts & associated labor are eligible ). Anyone can join the Ford Pass Rewards program ( no new vehicle purchase required ) and earn points on qualifying parts & service repairs / purchases . As noted above, it is not limited to Ford / Lincoln / Mercury products . Simply go to fordpassrewards.com/ , register and input your vehicles. When you go to the dealership, they will need to know the email address used to sign up in order to redeem any earned points. The Ford Pass smart phone app and Ford Pass Rewards are two separate animals. No smart phone or new vehicle purchase required for Ford Pass Rewards ( just an email address ). Alex D.
Nice, informative post, WillSD! For my first oil change yesterday, the dealer simply deducted the points on their computer -- upon checking out of the service department, and that's all she wrote. It really was free of charge!
WillSD
Alex D -- We have redeemed thousands of dollars in rewards since inception of the Ford Pass Reward program. The current tire rebate program offers a $70 prepaid credit card or $150 in Ford Pass Rewards points; the majority of our customers are opting for the Ford Pass Rewards points (as a bonus, they also earn points for the tire purchase). The Ford Pass app and the Ford Pass Rewards systems can be buggy (Ford has the worst IT in existence) but the redemption process has been excellent to date. When it works, it really is a wonderful loyalty program.
