jniffen
I see a CD Player! And real knobs for heat and cooling! Hate having to jump through 2 -3 menus on a touch screen just to change the temp. I hope it's going remind us the look of the Flex, not a Escort of the 90's. Ford has been removing them as they are redundant these days. No way are they adding one to a new model.

T-dubz
Is that the push button start below the ac controls? That’s a strange place to put it. I mean your hand will normally be in that area anyway so it makes sense, just haven’t seen it there in any other vehicle before. I suspect that the push button start is to the right of the steering wheel, where you can't see it in the photo, the same as the Escape and Bronco Sport. I think what I’m seeing is a cap for one of the power points.

I can make out an E with a line in the middle and a T below the line that line up with the "ENGINE START STOP" that's on the button.

There's a dark line, most likely a shadow or contour line, between the play/pause/ffwd/rev buttons and the hazard flasher button, that almost looks like a CD slot. That's the only thing I saw that looks like a CD slot, anyway, although the angle would be weird.

jniffen
Yes, I agree the angle is strange and I though the eject button turned out to be the flasher. The Back/Rew and Next/FF buttons really threw me. But what is the O with the line through it? Have to say it looks like an eject disc button. I am wondering what this will be looking like when they finally reveal it. It if seriously reminds me of the Explorer Sport Trac I'll be very interested. Finally, if Ford was working on 'reducing redundancy' why does the new F150 have like 7 - 10 different grille options?

Probably because they're easy to install. Same attachment points. Easy and cheap way to differentiate between models.

F-series is the crown jewel - it basically gets whatever it wants/needs to be successful. Another thing with the 7-10 options - there may technically be 7-10, but I think at least 4 of them are the same with different color surfaces/finishes (i.e. body color bars vs. chrome bars). Well to be fair the F-150 has lost equipment as a result of decontenting over the years as well but hasn't really hurt sales yet. I think some of the decontenting wasn't so much as to save future warranty costs but to recoup the losses of the past year or so. Charge the same price and more and have less equipment means more profit. It is when they start decontenting some items that are safety features that it becomes more worrisome. (Turn signal repeaters on the mirrors from the Edge, Mustang, Escape)
atomcat68
I hope that Faux granite look around the radio controls makes it into production because I kind of like that. I also wonder what the finish around the HVAC will look like because it appears to be missing here.
