akirby
Quote the 1.5-turbo is a solid companion. It’s peppy, but not especially quick, and the three-cylinder doesn’t sound half bad under load. The transmission just melts into the background, which is just as well for a vehicle like this — it neither frustrates nor wows.
akirby
Quote The Escape might be all the crossover many folks need, but we can’t help but want the Bronco Sport. It’s more expensive, but the end product is worth the premium. And this is why it should be very successful - a unique product that people want with an emotional appeal.

Hopefully whatever Ford engineers did to the 1.5L 3-cylinder/8-speed automatic powertrain in Bronco Sport so that it "neither frustrates nor wows" will be applied in 2021 Escape as well. These 2 reviews suggest the 2.0L engine is worth the extra money. Hopefully as members of this forum suggested, Ford will make the 2.0L engine an option for midlevel trims of Bronco Sport (Big Bend and Outer Banks) in 2022. "The 1.5-liter Bronco Sport accelerates with adequate urgency for merging with traffic—or at least I thought so until I drove a Badlands model with the 2.0-liter. If you can't afford that one, don't torture yourself with such a test drive." " The soundtrack that accompanies that acceleration won't inspire any hyperbole. This triple kind of moans the way most engines with an odd number of cylinders seem to. And whereas Ford's sound wizards have managed to wrangle some authentic-sounding V-8 music out of the 2.0-liter "EcoBoost" four-cylinder into the cockpit of the top Badlands model, they're unable to convincingly fill in the more distantly spaced power pulses of this three-cylinder with 2021-level wizarding technology." I think it looks like you have four spare tires on. Edited December 7, 2020 by T-dubz

But the NVH predicted by some is clearly not a big issue.
T-dubz
I was more concerned with the interior. Almost every review I read said it felt cheap. I thought someone here said Ford was supposed to step up the materials for the sport?
