bzcat
Based on Mahindra XUV500 which is a slow selling lackluster model in itself. The Ford version is supposed to have an unique tophat but as you can see in the spy photo above, the only major change from XUV500 that I can see is horizontal door handles and better side sculpting - straight rear quarter window with no arch hump behind the C-pillar. The greenhouse otherwise looks identical to XUV500. In case you are wondering, XUV500 is roughly the same size as Escape. Dimension L x W x H //WB Escape: 4,585mm x 1,882 mm x 1,679mm // 2,710mm XUV500: 4,585mm x 1,890mm x 1,785mm // 2,700mm Article has more detail on this C-segment CUV which has a project code of CX757. And there is another smaller one coming out soon with project code BX745 which is being co-developed with Mahindra XUV400 and roughly the size as Ford Puma. No word on what will happen to EcoSport which is also due for replacement (when Indian website calls your car long in the tooth, it means your car is really f'ing old!) . Ecosport is the same size as Mahindra XUV300 so figures it will be based on that. https://www.rushlane.com/new-ford-suv-based-on-2021-mahindra-xuv500-12385899.html Edited December 8, 2020 by bzcat
jpd80
There's something very wrong with the proportions of that...Ford, it looks dreadful. Edited December 8, 2020 by jpd80
silvrsvt
At least the Ford version appears to be a better looking variant of it..the Mahindra looks like a mish mash of older Chinese and Caddy design cues....ehhhh

Interesting how the code CX757 is so close to that of the defunct Maverick CUV. Even the Indian and Brazilian "Ecosports" (BX745 and BX755) aren't as similar. And, yes, the Ecosport is reaaaally old. I think last month, in Brazil, it managed not to find a spot in the Top 10 of the segment, behind virtually all competitors... I am very curious about Ford's plans for the Camaçari/Bahia plant.
