Too bad the microchip shortage has them shut down so much right now that they aren't building any. I like that more than the standard Escape.

I guess if you're gonna make one of these cars, you should at least go all-in on it.

Same with the Bronco sport. It's a brilliant strategy by ford, and a win for customers. I will always appreciate when automakers offer us variety and purpose-built, uncompromised vehicles.

Build and price app on Ford's U.S. website now shows 2021 Escape. It has good photos of the new SE Sport Appearance package. Escape - Build & Price (ford.com)

I like those wheels better than the Titanium Elite. Even more than my own. So are those wheels only for the SE Sport Hybrid? Or are they available on the SE also? The SE needs wheels like those to help move more off lot. They are lookers.

I agree with you FordBuyer sir, this 19" wheel design is the best looking in the Escape lineup. It is available on both regular and hybrid versions of Escape SE, and on the 2.0L AWD SEL. Here are details according to the 2021 Escape order guide.

  • 200A SE 1.5L with option package 62K (SE Sport Appearance Package)
  • 201A SE Hybrid with option package 62K (SE Sport Appearance Package)
  • 302A SEL 2.0L AWD with option package 62L (SEL Stealth AWD Package)

Speaking of 2021 Escape SE with SE Sport Appearance Package, here are photos of a hybrid version with that package at a dealership in Western Pennsylvania, Washington Ford. They have the best photos I've seen of the new instrument cluster with 6.5" digital screen on 2021 SE Hybrid and SEL Hybrid.

Is that IP standard now or is it a part of the appearance package? That’s the same one the bronco sport has standard. My explorer xlt has it as well and it’s nice. The non digital IP was super cheap looking on the current escape so that fixes one of its issues. A step in the right direction.

I also like both of the new wheels.

The instrument cluster with 6.5" digital screen is exclusive to Escape SE Hybrid and SEL Hybrid. It's standard on those versions, the appearance packages aren't required to get that instrument cluster.

Non-hybrid 2021 Escape SE and SEL still come standard with the super cheap, lawn tractor like instruments.

Yikes.  That camera angle doesn’t help as it obscures the fuel and temp gauge.  The digital cluster is a huge improvement, but still lacks refinement and is cheap looking.  Ford needs some better designers that can work some magic with the price target they are given.

The 3rd instrument cluster design for 2021 Escape is 12.3" all digital display. This one is optional on SEL and SEL Hybrid, standard on Titanium and Titanium Hybrid. 2020 Escape SE Sport Hybrid also included this design.

Now that is more like it.  With the low cost of displays these days, I wonder whether the optional display costs any more than the other two to produce or if they are just there as enticements to move up to a titanium or sel with the optional screen.

So they changed the instrument panel from mine which is all digital. Now that would look nice on the non hybrid SE.

The sport appearance package looks better but I'm still wondering why Ford didn't adopt the ST-line look for the US spec model.

Yes sir, I wondered the same thing. Kuga ST-Line in Europe with the monochromatic look is a more cohesive design.
