Safety features

I want all possible safety features to be included without having to pay tens of thousands of dollars more for various packages (e.g. Super Duty line).  Ford should want that too.  Other manufacturers include everything for practically no upcharge, such as in Subaru Foresters.

You're comparing a Ford SuperDuty to a Subaru Forester? These vehicles would have vastly different buyers with vastly different priorities.

Can you provide an example of what your specific concern is?

What features, Ford actually leads with 68% of vehicles produces in the HD world with AEB, that number is 10-20x what others in the market have in terms of penetration. AEB is $125 on a base XL, you can't even purchase it on base models of competitors vehicles.

Here is info from IIHS about the percentage of light duty (< 8,500 GVWR) vehicles from each major automaker with standard AEB. Note that it does not include HD pickup trucks or other commercial vehicles. https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/10-automakers-fulfill-automatic-emergency-braking-pledge-ahead-of-schedule

Percent of vehicles produced Sept. 1 to Aug. 31 with AEB, as reported by manufacturer for light-duty vehicles weighing 8,500 pounds or less Percent of 2021 models with standard AEB, as compiled by Consumer Reports

1Subaru’s driver assistance package that includes AEB is standard on all new vehicles with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), but it is not offered on vehicles with a manual transmission. Three Subaru models come with standard manual transmission and require an extra charge for a CVT. Under the terms of the voluntary commitment, automakers may defer equipping vehicles with manual transmissions with AEB until the 2024-25 production year.

2Percentage accounts for the automaker’s 2021 models for which specifications are known as of Dec. 11, 2020, but not yet all 2021 models offered by the automaker. CR lacks specifications for two models from Kia, one from Nissan and all of the Fiat models.

3Jaguar Land Rover has not reported that its AEB-equipped models conform to the performance requirements outlined in the voluntary commitment.

Adaptive cruise control is one that is very important.  Should be standard.  Also lane keeping assist.  Basically if it exists, it should be included.  My point was that inexpensive vehicles have them because they don't cost very much to include.  So include them in expensive vehicles too.
