IMSA-XJR9
https://racer.com/2021/01/27/fords-rushbrook-on-blue-ovals-lmdh-gt3-interest/ I've been waiting to see/hear/read what FMC's next steps might be for factory supported effort(s). GT3 seems like the easier/cheaper of the two, but perhaps we will get both! There have already been a few private GT3 Mustangs over the past number of years, mostly overseas.
Trailhiker
IMSA is getting rid of GTLM in 2022, and replacing it with GTD PRO. Here's an article from Speed Sport. https://speedsport.com/sports-cars/imsa/weathertech-championship/imsa-adding-gtd-pro-class-beginning-in-2022/ Edited January 29, 2021 by Trailhiker spelling
IMSA-XJR9
Yup!! Guess we will have to wait and see if the FIA/WEC will adopt GT3 or stick with LM GT (GT2). The MARC Gen 2 Mustangs are the closet to current GT3 Specs . . . and it looks and sounds great, in my opinion!
