Brand name Voltswagen will be applied to Volkswagen's BEV products in the U.S. market. 'Voltswagen of America' coming to U.S. (autonews.com)

A press release leaked online Monday revealed that Volkswagen of America will use the brand name “Voltswagen” to differentiate its line of electric vehicles, which began deliveries to U.S. dealers this month.

Automotive News has independently confirmed the authenticity of the planned change with a person familiar with the company's plans, and that it is not an April Fools' Day joke.

Thanks for this link ice-capades sir! Guess we didn't have to wait until the 1st to find out that Voltswagen was an April Fool's joke gone awry. ?

Awry? Ha, it served its purpose. It got lots of people talking about VW's electrification.

Reminds me of the old story about P.T. Barnum when he was interviewed by a woman who told him that she was writing a book, and that it would contain something disagreeable about him. "No matter, madam," was his reply, "say anything you like about me, but spell my name right — P. T. B-a-r-n-u-m, P. T. Barnum — and I’ll be pleased anyway."
