Lincoln zephyr concept car revealed

Am I missing something? This is quite obviously a refreshed MKZ, right? They've swapped the glasshouse for the Fusion's, but the hardpoints and roofline are all there... So this isn't a NEW vehicle, just an update with some flashy tech that the rest of the world isn't getting.

Yeah its on a completely different platform-a modified C2 vs the older CD6, which was based on the old C1 platform from 15 years ago or so.

It shares its underpinnings with the upcoming Evos in the Chinese market.

C2 came on-line in 2018, CD6 arrived in 2020 and the only thing it shares with the old C1 platform is the letter "C"....GRWD was a still-born attempt at rear driven uni-body platforms that never got past design stage and pre-dates C2 and CD6 and it died when Ford pulled the plug on Ford Australia manufacturing.

He meant CD4 not CD6.

What makes you say it's an ICE vehicle?

  • The fuel filler door on the left rear fender looks too small for a charging port
  • Charging ports are commonly located on front fenders
  • On either side of the rear facia, looks to be Lexus-type exhaust ports
